TOCFL Huayu Analyzer

Developed jointly by Mandarin Training Center of National Taiwan Normal University and Industrial Technology Research Institute, "TOCFL Huayu Analyzer " is an online reading aid for Chinese learning.
" TOCFL Huayu Analyzer " includes two subsystems, Word Segmentation system and Voice Assessment.
Word Segmentation system can break texts entered by teachers into words, phrases, and symbols; also evaluating the difficulty level of each word according to “Chinese 8000 words” drawn up by the Steering Committee for Test Of Proficiency-Huayu to generate glossaries. The glossaries serve as references for teachers to write on appropriate teaching materials for learners of different Chinese proficiency levels.
Voice Assessment analyze sentences recited by users and evaluate their pronunciation in real-time. This system allows users to practice on their pronunciation repeatedly. Teachers can retrieve syntax from this system and embed the syntax into their own teaching platform, providing a greater number of diverse online teaching activities.

Chinese Vocabulary Book

"Chinese vocabulary book" is a tool for creating vocabulary practices book, developed by the Mandarin Training Center of National Taiwan Normal University. It provides three kinds of phonetic format: no pronunciation marks, hanyu pinyin, and the Mandarin phonetic system (bo-po-mo-fo). Chinese characters in each practice box are presented in red strokes and hollow strokes so students can trace the strokes easily. Chinese language teachers create vocabulary books by producing vocabulary practice exercises online. The book is converted through Office Word where Chinese teachers can print them and hand them out to students to practice character writing.

Advanced Chinese Character Electronic Search System

(ACCESS) The interface of ACCESS is very user-friendly. Users only need to paste a text on the webpage, and the system will automatically search and analyze the words in the text. The system calculates the quantitative elements of the text, such as the component information, the source of new vocabulary, Chinese character information. Teachers can obtain the quantitative data from the text and use the data as a reference for drawing up teaching plans or teaching materials. In addition, teachers can adjust the difficulty of the teaching material text based on the vocabulary suggestions provided by the system.
